On p. 49 of separate. •Synonym of Pygocentrus caribe (Valenciennes 1850) -- (Machado-Allison & Fink 1991:122, Taphorn 1992:308). •Valid as Pygocentrus notatus (Lütken 1875) -- (Fuller et al. 1999:189). •Synonym of Pygocentrus cariba (Humboldt 1821) -- (Fink 1993:684, Machado-Allison et al. 2000:64, Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:189, Machado-Allison 2002:58). •Synonym of Serrasalmus cariba (Humboldt 1821).
